The thing to do this summer, whether you were a celebrity, athlete, or just a regular joe schmoe, was to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. With over three million donors to the cause, ALS received record-breaking donations over the course of one month.
Various members of the New Jersey Devils organization took part in the challenge.
Even the new NJD CEO took part in the challenge.
Eric Gelinas took the challenge as well.
Damien Brunner also took part in the challenge all the way in Switzerland (click on Facebook link inside of tweet).
While all of this looks like fun, especially with millions of people coming together for a great cause, a former New Jersey Devil found out that he not only has ALS, but he has four years left to live. Mitch Wilson’s story is heartbreaking. To donate to help with Mr. Wilson’s future care (a portion of the proceeds will be donated for ALS research), please see the previous link to his story. After all, he is one of the many reasons why the whole ALS Ice Bucket Challenge happened. The money goes to help find a cure for people like him.
