In a move that was no surprise to anyone, Jaromir Jagr re-signed with the New Jersey Devils on the same day the NHL announced that he was nominated for the Masterton Trophy.
When asked about the Masterton Trophy, Jagr said he didn’t know what it was. He said he felt like it was a new trophy. A reporter responded that the trophy had been around since the 1970s. 😉
The main reason why Jagr re-signed with the Devils is because he is happy there. He signed early because the Devils GM wanted to see which direction he was going to take the team for the 2014-15 season.
