During the 2013-14 season with the Devils, I was able to take some time to snap a few photos while I was covering the team. I’m going to share with you a few from this past season. Today, I’m sharing a few photos from the Stadium Series.
The Stadium Series (previously published at Inside Hockey)
The best photos of the Stadium Series featured Martin Brodeur. This is one of three photos that came out perfectly. The main photo for the banner on this site is also from the Stadium Series.
My favorite photo this season is this one of Marty. I love how you can see the blue of his eye behind his mask.
This season, I discovered that while I was covering the New York Rangers in Zug, Switzerland, I actually got a chance to see this young Swiss player on ice. Damien Brunner was one of the few that scored against the Rangers in that game. This season, he ended up on the Devils squad. When I interviewed him for an Olympic story, he was very happy to know there was someone in there that had seen him play in Zug.
Rookie Eric Gelinas amazed a lot of people this season. The young defenseman won the respect of the fans because of his wicked slapshot from the blueline. He was juggled throughout the season from being a defenseman to being a forward. This season he shared his Growing Up Hockey story with me for Inside Hockey. The funny thing about this moment (besides Eric smiling for the camera), he comes from a family of baseball players. He is the only one to play in Yankee Stadium…and he’s the only hockey player in the family.
The funny thing about these next two photos…the players were told to go out and just have fun. Here’s a couple of interesting moments caught on camera.
And, of course, a photo post would not be complete without Adam Henrique. He finished as the top goal scorer for the New Jersey Devils this season.
